Environmental
Education Overview
The Sturgeon City civic
and environmental education program currently operates out of the
former Administration Building at the former Wilson Bay Wastewater
Treatment Plant. Riverworks, the future civic
and environmental education center, will contain about
43,000 square feet of space to display native species, flora and
fauna of the same ancient lineage as the sturgeon and demonstrations
on how the City of Jacksonville worked with others to help restore
Wilson Bay and now is working in other areas.
The current operations provide for a laboratory, exhibition space, meeting space,
bathrooms with showers and offices.
