The vision for the Sturgeon City site provides a large public park with access for all. The parkís vistas will celebrate the return of improved habitat in Wilson Bay and allow for strolling through an environmentally sensitive area. The park experience will provide education about native plants and wildlife while providing a perspective on the unique geography of our area.a The Environmental Education Center is an adaptive reuse of the former wastewater treatment site and celebrates the industrial nature of that site. Drying beds have become research centers, some of the tanks are frames for aquariums and other tanks are the structures which provide a background for awareness of our Wilson Bay, New River and pocosin habitats.
