These resources facilitate our mission in providing high-quality, low-cost experiential programs to the youth of Onslow County. We are extremely grateful to have the opportunity to utilize these funds toward programs that help spark interest in our community's children!

Lorrie Otto Seeds for Education
Sturgeon City was able to construct a butterfly garden in its courtyard thanks to Lorrie Otto's Seeds for Education grant program. Through building this butterfly garden, students learned about proper planting techniques. This space has also been transformed into an informal learning opportunity as students observe various wildlife attracted to the variety of plants. In the spring of 2013, this space also became the natural habitat-home to four of Sturgeon City's Animal Ambassadors- Moe, Wally, Leroy and Gemma! Now it is referred to as "The Turtle Garden"!
