Working Hard or Hardly Working??
Aaron Johnston and Ashley Hudson

Mrs. Pat Donovan-Potts started off an hour of fun by instructing the students about the importance of wearing life jackets. After the safety speech, no time was wasted in getting out on the water. Shortly after, a fleet of canoes set out from the loading ramp, gliding across the water. The sun was up overhead as it shone down on the Science Institute students, paddling around searching for garbage surrounding Wilson Bay. This search however, was thwarted as splash wars erupted between canoes. They raced back and forth, weaving between pylons as they dodged splashes. In short time everybody had gotten wet, and was having a blast. As Mrs. Pat Donovan-Potts started to call the canoes in, the students and the volunteer marines who were helping out, were more than happy to come in as their voyages on the bay had worn them out. When the day was done and over with, most could agree that they had had fun whether or not they had actually brought any trash in.
