Earth Day Celebration
Every year around Earth Day, Sturgeon City holds a celebration for area elementary school students. Sturgeon City as well as local non-profits and other organizations gather together to educate students on important topics such as recycling, the importance of not littering, animals, ecosystems and much more! What you need to know
April 24, 2020
This year the event will be 3-hours long and we will have staggered start and end times to help accommodate unloading and loading of buses as well as visitation to the different stations. Times are as follows and you will choose one slot for your group.
9:00am - 12:00pm
9:30am - 12:30pm - slot taken
10:00am - 1:00pm
10:30am - 1:30pm
11:00am - 2:00pm (end time can be adjusted)
11:30am - 2:30pm (end time can be adjusted)
$5 per student and parent/chaperone (school staff/teachers are free)
- This event is set up like a community festival or field day. Stations will be placed inside the new Environmental Education Center and outside throughout the Sturgeon City site.
- Students will need to be organized in groups of 5-10 each with an adult chaperone.
- Buses will pull into our main entrance (map will be provided) and teachers/parent chaperones will need to check in at the table out front. Upon checking in, unload students and organize them into groups of 5-10. You will be directed into the event once unloaded.
Buses will be directed to park on the grass outside of the gate.
- This event will take place rain or shine. In the event of severe weather Sturgeon City may cancel the event.
